Using your favorite Web browser, locate two or three sites devoted to deadwood phrases. Your instructor may ask you to (a) submit a list of ten deadwood phrases (and their preferred substitutes) not mentioned in this textbook, or (b) work in teams to prepare a comprehensive “Dictionary of Deadwood Phrases,” including as many as you can find. Be sure to include a preferred substitute.
