Question: Since the 1950's, the United States has spent billions of dollars in exploring space, in general, but our solar system in particular. Money spent on getting men to the Moon, building a space station, exploratory missions to Venus, Mars, Jupiter and beyond. After all this money and time, one must ask the questions:
1. Why should we continue to explore the Solar system? Why not?
2. Have we gotten anything beneficial from our investment?
Be specific in your response to both questions.
