Should murderers be allowed to return to society if they are no longer deemed a threat? While scholars and practitioners continue to debate the use of rehabilitation, many agree that different types of offenders appear to be more or less likely to recidivate. Being able to differentiate between murderers who are likely to be rehabilitated versus those who are unlikely to be rehabilitated is of the utmost importance for increasing the effectiveness of the criminal justice system.
