Problem
Between 1941 and 1953, the role of the United States in world affairs transformed radically, and this resulted in major changes in American society and culture during this period. How and why did the United States move from a mostly isolationist nation with limited international commitments to a global super power deeply invested in overseas commitments and conflicts? And how did this transformation impact American society and culture at home in the USA?
Should focus obviously on the causes and effects of the U.S. involvement in World War II and the early Cold War.
