Shared values between an organisation and employees have a positive effect on employees job satisfaction. Reflect on the similarities or differences between your values and the values of the organisation where you currently work, or the one where you would like to work in the future.
Use a real organisation, not a hypothetical organisation. Visit the organisation's website and identify its values. Is there congruency between your values and those of the organisation? How does this congruency, or lack thereof, influence your attitude towards working in this organisation?
Use supporting theoretical concepts from your textbook and cite one journal article (written in the last ten years and NOT Paarlberg and Perry as listed above. You can use this to help you find other articles however) that discusses this topic. The theoretical underpinning of the concepts will inform you and encourage you to think about organisational behaviour in your own organisation. In addition to offering you an understanding of shared values, it will help prepare you for the subject and subsequent assessments.
