Share example where treatment/behavior change be impeded

Problem: For this week's Discussion Board, please watch the "Barriers that Prevent Long-Term Patient Behavior Change". We will need to be mindful of scope of practice (which refers to what we are allowed to do at our level of education and training) as we discuss, but even if a human services professional is not yet in a therapist role, our roles may allow us to still encourage compliance with treatment as we are a part of the client's (patient's, student's, etc.) care team.

1. Share an example of a situation where treatment/behavior change may be impeded.

2. What factors in that situation may impede the client's compliance with treatment (medication, other treatment plans, or a combination of both).

3. How could you be proactive and consider those factors before the treatment/behavior modification plan is implemented so that you can help increase the chances of compliance and success?
