Many ethical violations in research have come to the public's attention, such as drug side effects being downplayed by pharmaceutical companies, testing being done on animals or on humans without approval, having inaccurate findings published that did not represent the validity of tests or research and development (R&D), and funds being marked for research but being used in ways other than prescribed.
Share and summarize an example that you are aware of where ethics were compromised during the research process. Explain your opinion on what went wrong, the consequences, and what punitive action you believe should have been taken.
