Selection and statement of learning

Your final assignment for this course is to construct a case study focused on a topic
related to the field of human resources.
The final case study consists of the following components:
• Topic selection and statement of learning (Week 1)
• Outline and references (Week 3)
• Draft (Week 5)
• Revised Draft (Week 6)
• Final Draft (Week 8)
• Final Presentation Presentation (Week 8)
In Week 1 you will begin preparing your case study. The first thing you should do is
develop your statement of learning. First, select a topic that you find interesting and you
feel will provide proper foundation for a case study. Provide a 1 - 2 paragraph rationale
for choosing this topic. Then, answer these three questions:
1. What is it I am studying?
2. What is it that I intend to learn from this study?
3. What am I going to do with this newfound knowledge?
Answer those questions with as few words as possible. If you can respond succinctly,
then you have most likely identified a case study that is not too broad or too narrow.
Your next task in preparing your case study is to develop an outline. Make sure
that you have some idea of where you are going with your case study. This outline can
4 of 10
become your table of contents. Remember that it is a living document, subject to
revision as you research and learn more. However, you will need to keep it current and
it will keep you on track. Along with the outline you should provide an initial list of 3 - 5
resources you plan to use for the case study. This will give you a solid foundation for
the research aspect of your case study. You will likely find additional resources as you
work up to completing the final draft of the case study. Once you have created the
outline and gathered your initial resources, you are ready to start the process of
researching and writing.
In Week 5 and Week 6, a draft of the case study will be due. You will utilize the
feedback you receive in making improvements to your case study prior to turning in the
final version in Week 8. The final version of your case study should be at least 10 pages
in length, not including title and reference pages. You should use APA style for all
formatting and citations.
Once you've completed your written case study, you will present the information from
your case study. Use a PowerPoint presentation to deliver this report. Your presentation
should contain at least 12 slides (not including title and reference slides). Please utilize
various creative strategies (animation, color, images, audio and video links, etc.) to
create an informative and visually appealing presentation. Once your PowerPoint is
complete, record your presentation (using an tool such as Prezi or recording narration
on the PowerPoint file). Submit the PowerPoint file to the assignments area of the
classroom regardless of your delivery method. If you have recorded online, you should

If you choose to take on this project I I will need a draft from you before the final assignment is done. Also the draft will be needed no later than 1 week before the set due date I choose. Also I will NOT need a power point done.
