Securing an Organization
Dana and Michael are in the weekly staff meeting with Donna and the rest of her staff. "Folks, we have been considering what might happen if we had a major weather or natural event. Our primary concern at this point is what would happen to our operations. Look at what happens when we lose a single ATM machine?dozens of complaints. Could you imagine the impact of a total outage? Michael, Dana, and I need a list of the elements we'd need to consider in a business continuity plan. We have multiple major offices that are far apart enough to remove any concerns about mutual events. Can we use that to allow us to continue operations if needed? How do we handle staffing when each of our facilities are so far apart? How should we handle telecommunications and network?
Before Michael can offer, Dana sighs and replies, "We'll have something for you by Monday."
Assignment: Arrange a one- or two-page document describing the key elements that FOSFCU wil need to consider in its business continuity planning.
