For this week's discussion, I selected the sample of mental illness and caffeine use. The student narrowed the topic when looking at the difference between six source essays to the literature review. There is a more refined look at how caffeine impacts those with mental illnesses in specific age groups, rather than mental illnesses as a whole. I feel that the student most likely found the expansion of research to be the most challenging aspect. I suspect this because there's more that goes into the literature review, there needs to be expanded details on various different aspects of the topic. In this case, the literature essay has a breakdown of how caffeine impacts those with mental illnesses differently in various age groups, rather than a single, adult age group. In the literature review, the student provided ten sources over the original six in the six source essay. When addressing the dangers of caffeine, the student provides a sufficient amount of sources for this specific area of review. The student blended the sources to portray the different opinions and information in regards to the dangers of caffeine. This blend throughout the review provided a comparative analysis of the impacts that caffeine can have on individuals combating mental illnesses, specifically, anxiety.

Sample-Mental Illness and Caffeine Use
1. The student expanded their topic from the six-source essay to the multi-source essay. In the six-source essay, they primarily focused on caffeine consumption and its effects, risks, and benefits. In contrast, the multi-source essay delves deeper into the impact of caffeine on psychiatric patients and the central nervous system.
2. One challenge the student may have faced was managing and synthesizing a wide range of sources due to the complexity of the topic and the diversity of the subtopics. Nonetheless, the student did a good job synthesizing the sources.
3. The student effectively cited multiple sources in each category. For example, in the section titled "What are the dangers of caffeine consumption in psychiatric patients?", they referenced two sources (Simmons and Lara) that discuss research findings, followed by two additional sources (Rizkallah and Chelben et al.) that provide examples and case studies. Later in the section, they included citations from Ferré and Czajkowski to reinforce the claims made by the previously cited sources. Looking for Assignment Help?
