Explain to Tony, that despite appearances, we may be entering a time of chronic shortages of work, and the problems this might lead to. Show that you are not without hope, citing the arguments from an article entitled "A World Without Work", that places with falling employment are already coming up with solutions. Tell Tony about the role of consumption, communal creativity, and contingent work. Before Tony gets on about lower taxes, make sure he understands that governments may need to play an important role in this transition to a world of less paid work.
