Assignment Task:
On The Job Learning! (Three)
Your experiences MATTER, and these assignments are meant to help you think about your role in school within the broader context of education.
OJL 3:
1. Share your research with someone at your school. Preferably, this person has some authority to take action and advocate for the students you are writing about. This can be done via:
- A casual conversation
- An email
- Sharing portions or all of your essay
See sample questions you can ask on page 2 of this resource. YOU ARE NOT ASKING SOMEONE TO PROOFREAD YOUR ESSAY. You are asking them to consider the argument you are making in this essay.
2. Write a one page response that includes:
- A summary of that person's feedback
- Your personal reflection on that feedback.
3. Your response should include multiple paragraphs. You should have an APA cover page. If you quote the person you shared with, include internal citations and a reference page.
You will be graded on:
Overall effectiveness of the writing:
An effective response includes a clear summary of the reviewer's feedback about the topic and a thoughtful personal reflection about the reviewer's feedback. You should write using specific examples rather than vague generalizations.
Grammar for clarity:
As a whole, grammar that is used effectively enhances the essay and does not make it confusing in any way.
Remember, In all your writing, your voice matters. Proofread for errors, and NEVER use sentence correctors, modifiers, or suggested rewrites in editing programs like Grammerly.
These take away from your voice and put you at risk of AI plagiarism.
