The Chief of Police of a law enforcement agency has a lot of responsibilities. Some of the duties include managing the daily operations of the police department as well as creating new and reviewing old administrative policies. For this final assignment, assume you are the Chief of Police of a law enforcement agency.
Begin by researching and reviewing administrative policies on the use of deadly force and Chain of Custody of two police departments of your choice. Then, write current and new policies on both the use of deadly force and Chain of Custody for your own police department. The policies should cover when an officer can use deadly force and how the police department handles the occurrence after the officer has used lethal force. Be sure to explain, in detail, how evidence should be handled as it relates to the Chain of Custody.
Support your assignment with at least seven scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.
