Assignment Task: I chose the title sequence from Amazon Prime's "Good Omens" due to it's beautiful meld of movement and use of space. Peter Anderson Studios created this motion graphic with the intention of showing the progression of humanity through the eyes of Christianity, and where the protagonists fit along with it. The title sequence begins by only showing the protagonists, Crowley and Aziraphale, which establishes a connection between them and the audience. The sequence continues by literally following the creation of the world with the two as our guide, we the audience watch Crowley and Aziraphale move from left to right across the screen, collecting more details from the environment as they go. The music builds along with the progression of the sequence, and the colors, though bright, still manage to convey the dark undertones of the story. I think the artists did an exceptional job of showing the severity of religion with all the symbolism and details, but the fast paced music and constant movement of background elements still gives the title sequence the fun, comedic energy within the show. It's not meant to be watched like a sitcom, rather a mockery of Christian beliefs and traditions. Reply
