Assignment task: Review the chapter: The Internet and Ethical Values and respond to the following questions.
Option 1:
In this lesson, you explored several moral theories that espouse that ethical and moral behavior is a necessity in a normal and functioning society. Identify the key assumptions of each of the following frameworks:
- Utilitarianism
- Kant's Moral Theory
- Natural Law Theory
Include examples of each of the frameworks, and identify the key differences between them. In your opinion, which of the moral frameworks has the most promise for dealing with the moral dilemmas associated with the Internet? Be sure to include the rationale for your opinion.
Option 2:
Identify the four constraints that regulate behavior. For each one, include an example of how the constraint regulates behavior on the Internet.
Option 3:
Review the 3 Ethics Codes for computer professionals. (AITP(opens in a new tab), ACM(opens in a new tab), IEEE(opens in a new tab)) As a computer professional, these provide guidelines to follow in your profession. Identify 3 principles (they can be from the same Code, or one from each). For each principle, provide information on why it is important for a computer professional to adhere to the principle.
