Assignment task: Review the play Romeo and Juliet. Provide a theme-based summary of the novel as part of your review. Elements to discuss in your review are outlined below.
Theme: Instead of simply retelling the plot of the novel, focus the review on the novel's theme and how it affected your response to the book. Early in the review, describe the underlying message the author seems eager to convey.
Characters: Since the review is theme-based, focus on how the characters and their actions worked to support the novel's theme. Did their actions and beliefs actively support the theme, or did they seem contradictory to it in some way? Did you find the characters' actions believable?
Setting and Plot: Does the setting contribute to the conflict and the theme that arises from it? How does the author use the setting to address the theme? Do all events in the plot reinforce the theme, or do some of the events seem extraneous and unrelated?
Text Evidence: provide specific evidence from the text to support your ideas about the novel.
