Recommend Data Analysis Techniques for a Qualitative Research Plan
Last week, you practiced your skills in hand-coding by coding interview data that you gathered in Week 7. In addition, you should have familiarized yourself with NVivo, a software program that facilitates qualitative research coding. This week, you will think about the coding methods you have been exposed to, and make a recommendation for the data analysis techniques that would be most appropriate for your qualitative research plan.
To prepare for this Discussion:
1. Review the data analysis and consider the coding activities you have engaged.
2. Consider the kinds of data that would be generated through the data collection techniques anticipated for your qualitative research plan. Would you have interview transcripts? Observation field notes? Documents to analyze? Images? Videos? Something else?
3. Based on how you answered the above questions, what kinds of data analysis techniques would be appropriate for your qualitative research plan? Would you use software? What would you recommend?
With these thoughts in mind:
Post by Day 3, a 2- to 3-paragraph recommendation of data analysis techniques appropriate to your qualitative research plan. Include a brief description of the kinds of data you would expect to collect that would require analysis.
