Discussion:
Choose a book from the list provided. Read the book and write a review about it. Do not simply re-tell the story. Provide a short synopsis of the story and then analyze the novel in terms of characters, ideas, language or style, and issues. I am interested in your response to the novel. Did it change your perspective; increase your understanding; or broaden your experience? Were you able to identify with the characters? Did the book change your thinking? Is this a valuable book for college students?
The review should be at least three pages in length, double-spaced, and proof-read for spelling and grammar. It is recommended that you visit the Writing Center for advice on structure and organization and input on grammar, sentence structure, and spelling. If your review includes quotations or ideas from any source (book, website, journal, etc.) you must acknowledge the source with the proper MLA citation form.
