Homework: ANA Standards Article Commentary
1) Review the ANA Standards document under the Class Resources tab. Focus on the Standards of Professional Performance.
2) Choose one of the 11 standards that captures your attention.
3) Search for a relevant journal article which explains or discusses the importance of this standard to professional nursing.
4) Consider the prompts below.
5) Plan, organize, and practice your video content.
6) Keep your video to three to four minutes.
7) Introduction
a) Announce the chosen Standard of Professional Performance using the number and name from the document in Brightspace.
b) Briefly define the Standard.
8) Journal Article
a) Provide the title, author, date of publication, and where you found the article.
b) Briefly summarize the article and explain how the article connects professional nursing to the chosen Standard.
9) Commentary
a) What does this Standard add to your understanding of the nursing profession?
b) Why do you think the Standard is relevant to nursing today?
c) Provide a concrete example of how you can (and will) incorporate this Standard into your nursing practice.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
(1) The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
(2) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
