Problem: Compare two of the performances you reviewed of Shylock's famous "Hath not a Jew eyes" speech. Consider the different emotional cores and overall tones of these speeches. Consider each actor's voice, posture, engagement with other characters in this scene, etc. Finally, consider the different conclusions we might draw or perceptions of we might have of Shylock in seeing him portrayed in one of the other of these speeches. For instance, perhaps one version invites us to view Shylock as more sympathetic and one less. [If you're having trouble getting started on this comparison, one helpful strategy might be assigning each performance a particular adjective.]
