Assignment task:
After reading Jeniffer Kim's essay "Nothing Extraordinary" think about what I said in my lecture notes about personal essays being both personal and universal. What do you think is a theme in this essay? In other words, what is a larger idea/subject that the author is exploring? And how could this idea could connect to the reader?
TIP: To answer this, it might help to think about what question the essay might be responding to. If this were an essay in response to a prompt that a teacher gave, what prompt might that be (Example: Tell us about a time that you....)?
