Critical Review Paper: Develop a publication quality critical review paper. The purpose of writing a critical review paper is for the student to develop an understanding of how environmental health research is conducted and to acquire skills for conducting a thorough literature review in support of environmental and human health research, and be able to properly cite and reference peer-reviewed literature. While honing writing and critical thinking skills, students will develop competency in synthesizing valuable state-of-the-art information from the current literature (ideally the last ten years) and present a critical analysis on a pressing environmental health issue.
The critical review paper ought to be of high standard, 6-page long (single-spaced, 11-point Times Roman, 1-inch margins on all sides), and references can follow any standard citation style guide (e.g., APA, MLA, etc.) but ought to be consistent throughout the paper. A minimum of 35 references must be cited. Cover page, references, and appendices (tables, figures, schematics, etc.), if any, are not included in the 6-page limit.
