Discuss the below in detail:
Q: What I consider to be the most important trend in healthcare moving forward is most definitely interoperability!
As one engaged in the field currently, and also a Cerner system user, I feel the United States should adopt a law that requires that all be required to share EHR. I might add that I understand a lot of the reason Cerner is unwilling to share and communicate with others. Also, I would go so far as to say that in our instance, they are unwilling to allow us communication with other Cerner customers. That being said, more companies are needed for the provision of services offered by them. I anticipate and hope that from the experiences thus far, other vendors will reinvent themselves and get into the market. The other anticipated trend, I would love to be around for is the implementation of more engaging enforcement of compliance in respects to the rights, dignity, and respect for our loved ones relegated to long term care. For it seems more oft than not, they receive treatment certainly unwarranted and in need of dire overhaul from those who promised to do no harm either by commission or certainly omission. It's the omission that is so horribly held unaccountable by the caretakers and most of the government. For we fall far behind many of the other countries in this matter too. They believe in respecting, caring, and honoring the elderly and the young far more than we. I look forward to the day when instead of allowing the system to be raped and depleted for our future use, accountability reaches new heights (by means of better RAC and stricter audits) and better care for LTC patients is an absolute.
