Assignment task:
"How to Be Chinese" (due by Thursday): Mackenzie is a young Chinese American girl narrating the early adventures of her beginning college experience (something you may have experienced at one point in your lives or are currently experiencing). However, Mackenzie has some added challenges as she struggles to find a voice that speaks to her identity and authenticity as a Chinese American. Explain one or two moments in the story when her point of view is questioned by herself or by others (or, at least, when she imagines or perceives that others might be questioning her authenticity; feel free to speak to this insecurity as well).
