No word count - Responsibility for motivation is an interesting topic that we could discuss at length. I do agree that self-motivation is a very important characteristic, particularly if you are starting a business. I do feel that an employer has a responsibility to create an environment that encourages motivation. In some respects motivation can come from open communication from supervisors who share information and have a vision that is shared. Creating a great work environment and having an employee who is not motivated is a situation that generally requires swift correction.
Training and education is somewhat analogous to motivation. Who is responsible for training? Should training be during work hours or after work hours?
