World Health Organization’s Response to Ebola:
We are doing a project on World Health Organization (WHO) response to the Ebola outbreak and how this compares to other emergency responses or the effectiveness of WHO facilities in central Africa after an emergency has been addressed ( focusing on prevention efforts).
Keep in mind that you’re describing an agency
IF describing an agency/program (e.g. partners in health)
1) Describe the agency/program
a) Where are they working? Health issues the agency addresses, etc.
2) What public health issues is the program/agency addressing?
a) If focusing on one issue, give a general picture of types of issues agency addresses and then indicate you are looking at the just the one health issue
b) How is the agency addressing the respective health problems indicated in part b?
(1) What Programs does the agency have in place or established? Describe
(2) Same programs used in different countries?? Or different approaches used?
c) Are any of these agencies/programs hindering addressing the public health issue? If so how? If not, then do not include in paper/presentation
d) Are any of these agencies/programs effective in dealing with the public health issue? If so, how? (give some stats from secondary sources, etc.)
3) What policy or policies address or are related to the public health issue, etc.
a) Has the agency implemented any policies to address respective health issues? (if focusing on one health issue for an agency, then any health policies the agency has contributed to re: the health issue?) Or has the agency contributed to the implementation of any policies?
(1) Do any of these policies hinder addressing the issue? If so, how is the policy (policies) hindering addressing the issue (if do not hinder, then leave out)
(2) How is the policy (policies) facilitating addressing the public health issue?
