2. Researchers conducting a clinical trial randomly assigned 60 patients with painful kneeosteoarthritis evenly into one of four treatment groups: glucosamine, chondroitin, Celebrex, orplacebo. After the study period, patients were asked if they experienced substantialimprovement in pain and ability to function normally. Thirty-four patients replied that they didhave an improvement, including 8 in the glucosamine group, 9 in the chondroitin group, 11 inthe Celebrex group, and 6 in the placebo group.

b. Conduct the appropriate test to determine if these four treatments were equally successful inimproving knee pain and functionality. (5pt)

c. Calculate the odds ratio of experiencing an improvement for patients in the Celebrex groupcompared those in the placebo group. Interpret what this means in the context of theproblem.
