Case Study 1: Charles wants to talk to a walker about his problems. Charles is 18 and is currently unemployed. He lost his job last month and now he is struggling to pay his rent. Charles lives with his girlfriend, and she is in her 1st year at Uni. Charles moved in with his girlfriend as his stepfather was physically abusing him. Charles has started feeling anxious and some days he struggles to get out of bed which is causing strain on his relationship with his girlfriend. His girlfriend wants him to leave her unit by the end of the month. Charles also tells you that when he gets really stressed, he stutters, and this makes it hard for him when he goes for a job interview.
Case Study 2: Azaria has twins who are nearly 2 and is currently living with her husband. Azaria cries when she tells a worker that her husband drinks a lot, and he has been shouting and pushing Azaria because she doesn't keep the house tidy enough. Azaria wants to leave her husband, but her religious beliefs keep her in the relationship as she has been taught that she must do what her husband says. Azaria tells the worker that she has sleeping pills and thinks about taking them all at once. Azaria also explains that she came to Australia because of the war in her country and she saw many sad things. This childhood trauma gives her nightmares.
