Purpose:
The goal of this assignment is to familiarize you with the research process in psychology. The article was written by psychologist and reviewed by other psychologists before publication. After you complete this assignment, pay attention to the author’s names in parenthesis in your textbook that look like this: (Lynch & Haney, 2009). The study you are about to read is the type of study the textbook is referencing in their citations. Grading Rubric
Your papers will be assessed on the following criteria. These are ranked from most to least important.
1. Critical thinking & depth of thought. You establish rich connections between concepts, generate new ideas, and make links between the material in Chapter 1 and the article.
2. Accuracy: Information is accurately summarized
3. Completeness of each answer I will be looking for complete answers for each question. Be sure to address ALL aspects of every question and be sure to explain your ideas completely.
4. Quality of writing Spelling, grammar, & organization of ideas. Sentences read smoothly. Ideas flow logically.
