Reflecting on the notion of social capital

Problem 1: Visit the following site that has accumulated data about Rate My. This is searchable platform enables you to look up specific terms and observe their frequency across disciplines and by gender. Look up some of the words you used to describe your professor in your review. Identify if any words you used have gendered patterns (i.e., are used more frequently for one gender compared to another) and explain why such words may or may not have gendered patterns.

Problem 2: Over the last decade, there has been an increase in the number of social movement organizations that the Southern Poverty Law Center has designated as "hate groups." Review the list of the hate-based organizations in Texas:

How do they name themselves and what are the racial and ethnic groups that are targeted by these organizations? What patterns do you observe in the groups on this list?

Problem 3: Reflecting on the notion of "social capital," what might be some types of social or cultural capital that TCU students enjoy compared to students who lack the economic capital to attend a four-year university? Are there any distinct forms of capital that are unique to TCU?
