Reflect intercultural communication and conflict management


Assignment task: To reflect upon intercultural communication and conflict management in professional context. Specifically, to address the following (with adequate explanations, rationales, and/or evaluations - whether positive, negative, or neutral):

1. Explain some of intercultural communication challenges you have experienced based on the various components of cultural identity of yourself in relation to the stakeholders you have to deal with ? For the challenges explained, elaborate using the some of the concepts of cultural differences (may use Hofstede's Model, GLOBE Project Model, Lewis Model, or Hall's Model).

2. Explain whether such challenges have led or can lead to certain types of conflict (task, relationship, process, or status conflict) and whether such conflicts are linked to certain components of cultural identity (e.g., nationality, department, gender, age, etc.) and certain types of diversity (i.e., separation, variety, or disparity).

3. Explain some of the barriers for you to have a more collaborative-compromising, engagement-focused, approach in managing such conflicts with your stakeholders, including when digital communication needs to take place, and some approaches to address such barriers.
