Rectangular cavity resonator

Question 1: Derive the field expressions for a rectangular cavity resonator. Plot the field patterns for the dominant mode of propagation in such a resonator for TE and TM modes supposing dominant modes.

Question 2: Write brief notes on parallel strip lines.

Question 3: Describe about the ohmic losses and the radiation loss in a microstrip lines.

Question 4: A rectangular cavity is formed by shorting the ends of an X-band waveguide. (a = 2.2cm, b = 1.01cm). The length d = 6cm. Compute the resonant frequency for the TE101 mode.

Question 5: Compute a few of resonant frequencies of a cavity mode from a section of a rectangular waveguide (2 X 1 X 3) cm. Identify the modes of oscillation in the cavity suitable to each frequency.
