Recently, Facebook announced it's IPO (initial public offering), thereby making the privately held company able to be sold on the open market. Of course, there were shareholders that owned Facebook, but SEC requirements mandated that the company go public. For this week, I'd like you to research Facebook's IPO and get a little history on the reason behind the IPO. Based on your readings, what part do you think the shareholders had in this decision and what is there to be gained/lost by the initial shareholders?
