Problem: With all the changes going on it is important to keep an open mind when it comes to diversity. I grew up in the early 80's, my parents were old fashion and ensured we greeted everyone we met with the proper title of ma'am or sir. This is not the case anymore, just the other day I responded to an individual with a 'thank you sir' and this person took offense. My 14-year-old daughter had to explain to me the pronouns being used and the reasoning as to why the individual was offended. It is a huge learning curve for someone that was taught this during childhood. I felt ignorant about the whole situation.
