- Listen to the assigned pieces of music (parts of Beethoven's Fifth and Ninth Symphony, 1st and 3rd movement of Moonlight Sonata, Chopin's Revolutionary Etude and Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries).
- Analyze three assigned paintings (The Third of May 1808, The Raft of the "Medusa", and Liberty Leading the People).
INITIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1 - State your opinion whether you think that the Raven fits into the Romantic movement or not. Base your opinion on what you have learned about the Romanticism, and on the way you perceived the poem while reading it. Name explicitly what elements of the poem made you choose your answer.
2 - Choose one of the assigned paintings and one of the pieces of music that in your opinion have most similarities to the Raven. Name what exactly are the elements of the chosen painting and of the chosen composition that in your opinion resemble certain elements of the poem.
