Question
What is major disparity between capping beams and ground beams for piles?
Answer
Capping beams for piles plan to transferring loads from directly spaced columns or walls into a row of piles. On other hand, ground beams are beams provided between nearby pile caps and they achieve as compression struts or ties in an attempt to avoid lateral displacement or buckling of piles in uneven distribution of loads on pile caps. Together it has to be specially designed to cater for discrepancy settlement of piles.
Capping beam performs same functions as pile caps. However, ground beams are structural basics to attach adjacent pile caps to improve stability of basis.
