Meninges are the membranes that protect and the enclose central nervous system (CNS). Cerebrospinal fluid is the fluid that separates the three layers that form the meninges and defense and it has the functions mechanical protection for the CNS, of nutrient transport.
The cerebrospinal fluid fills and protects cavities of the spinal cord and the brain.
