Q Show Geniculate Bodies of the thalamus?
THALAMUS - two large circular shaped masses at "roof" of 3rd brain ventricle. Contains many different nuclei which function as relay stations (synapses) for sensory information ascending to cortex. All senses and body parts have sensory relays in the thalamus with the exception of olfaction. The lateral and medial Geniculate Bodies of the thalamus are critical visual and auditory relay centers.
