Q. Show Application to Gyroscope?
A fiber optic Gyroscope is used to detect the mechanical rotation of the interference of light. Two beams travel along the fiver in opposite directions. Due to Signac effect, the beam travelling against the rotation is slightly shorter in path than the other beam. The resulting phase shift affects how the beams interference with each other, when they are combined. A fiber optic gyroscope is used to determine rotational rate information, surveying, stabilization and inertial navigation.
