Q. Shipping of steel pipes?
Pipe will be transported from the coating yard to the job site as specified in the Purchaser Order. The Applicator will ensure that the pipe has sufficient dunnage to adequately protect the pipe and its external coating during normal shipping operations by either truck or railcar. Nylon straps shall be used to secure the pipe to the truck or railcar.
The Applicator shall separate the coated pipe with polypropylene ropes for transporting. Each rope shall be a minimum of 3/4"(19 mm) in diameter. The number of ropes required per pipe is as follows:
• 40' (12 m) nominal length 5 ropes
The ropes shall be equally spaced along the pipe.
