Q. Instruction set for IA - 64 architecture?
Instruction set: Architecture gives instructions for multimedia operations as well as floating point operations. Itanium supports various bundle mappings to allow for more instruction mixing possibilities that involve a balance between parallel and serial execution modes. There was room left in initial bundle encodings to add more mappings in upcoming versions of IA-64. Additionally Itanium has individually settable predicate registers to issue a type of runtime-determined 'cancel this command' directive to respective instruction. This is at times more efficient than branching of runtime-determined 'cancel this command' directive to respective instruction. This is at times more efficient than branching.
