Q. Illustrate Properties of Protons and Neutrons?
Ans.
We now know that following fundamental properties of protons and neutrons:
1. The proton has a charge of +1, which is equal in magnitude (but opposite in sign) to the -1 charge of an electron. The proton has a mass approximately equal to that of a hydrogen atom, and is assigned a mass number of 1.
2. The neutron is an uncharged neutral particle. As the mass of a neutron is about equal to that of a proton, the neutron has a mass number of 1.
