Epidermis and nervous system have the same embryonic origin- the ectoderm and the epidermal appendages (like hair, nails, sebaceous glands and sweat glands), the cornea, the mammary glands, the adenohypophysis, the crystalline lens and the retina are also derived from ectoderm.
