Q. Explain the basic principle of linear sweep voltage generator
A linear time base generator or sweep generator is one that provides an output waveform, a portion of which exhibits a linear variation of voltage or current with time. The voltage - time base circuit finds a major application in CRO. Among several methods to achieve sweep linearity, the Miller circuit and Bootstrap circuit are commonly used. In the Miller circuit, an operational integrator is used to convert a step into a ramp waveform. In the Bootstrap circuit, a constant current is approximated by maintaining nearly constant voltage across a fixed resistor in series with a capacitor.
