Q. Describe Real numbers?
Ans.
There are a few different ways to describe real numbers. Without going into any of the very technical definitions used by mathematicians, I'll just say that a real number is ...
- Any rational or irrational number;
- Any number which can be written as a decimal.
The set of real numbers includes everything I've mentioned so far, including rational numbers, integers, and whole numbers. Here are some examples of real numbers:
The set of real numbers is closed under addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
By the way, there is sometimes more than one way to write a decimal number. For example, 1.0 and 0.99999... are the same number.
