Purdue Pharma is the creator and largest producer of the drug Oxycontin. This drug is the keystone of an opioid crisis in America. Purdue Pharma has used unethical methods to push this drug in the past, but now social pressure is forcing the FDA to look closely at how addictive this drugs are.
Ethical Dilemma:
As the creator of the deadly and addictive drug Oxycontin, should Purdue Pharma slow production of the drug and invest in alternatives with less harmful side effect, or do the benefits of the drug and the research allowed by the profits demand it continue the practice and wide use of the harmful pill.
