Pulse width modulation (PWM) is used to control dc voltage to an
electric heater. The supply voltage is 12 Vdc, and the heating element is modeled as a 1 resistance.
(a) Calculate the average power delivered to the heater when the voltage is switched at 100% duty cycle.
(b) Calculate the duty cycle such that the average power is:
i. 72 W (half of full power). (The answer is not 50%.)
ii. 30 W.
(c) Show a plot of normalized average power (0-100%) vs. voltage duty cycle (0-100%)
