Problem: According to the ABIM Foundation, "Medical professionalism is the daily expression of the desire to help people and society as a whole by providing quality health care to those in need" (ABIM Foundation). Some of the main characteristic of medical professionalism are integrity, high quality care, respect, honesty, compassion and keeping the focus centered around what is best for the patient (Shapiro). In every type of medical facility, these qualities of medical professionalism are very important to the long-term success of the facility and the well being of all patients.
