1. Siggelkow (2011), among others, conceives of the firm as a system of highly interdependent elements. Explain the major tenet of this conception of the firm and discuss its implications for organizational ambidexterity or for organizational change.
2. The population ecology offers a selection perspective as an alternative to the adaptation perspectives. Briefly compare and contrast the population ecology perspective with adaptation perspectives. Integrating both perspectives, discuss why firms fail to adapt and how they can overcome such failure.
3. Institutional theory has often been criticized as largely focusing on explaining both the persistence and the homogeneity of phenomena. However, institutions do change over time. Provide your own model of institutional change, which includes antecedents to and processes of institutional change.
