Assignment task: In order for you to get ready for your final presentation you must begin to think about your topic. The exercise below will help begin that process.
1. Please provide three possible topics/issue you are most interested in or that have emerged for you during the quarter.
2. Provide a site for each topic/issue. This is where you give your topic/issue scope. You don't want to do research on everything that s involved in your topic/issue, only what is relevant and useful to you.
3. Develop a guiding question from each of the possible topics/issues. In other words what is it that you want to know about the topic/issue.
Here is an example of the exercise:
- I am interested in gender in the media.
- I want to focus my research on gender in the media in the US and only on TV, not films or advertisement.
- I want to know how gender representation in TV shows reproduce sexist notions about masculinity.
